Though it’s technically been available for purchase online since November, February 12 will bring the wide release of IT’S NOT FAIR TO ME, the new album from seven-time GRAMMY Nominee (two-time winner) BILL HARLEY and KEITH MUNSLOW. Set for release on Round River Records, details on the 10-song set can be found below…
IT’S NOT FAIR TO ME…
From the official announcement: Bill and Keith co-wrote the title song after a contest last spring hosted by Mindy Thomas of SiriusXM’s Kids Place Live. After considering hundreds of kids’ song title suggestions, Keith and Bill chose the perennial issue of sibling rivalry with “It’s Not Fair to Me.” Other songs on the album, about misbehaving dogs, whining little brothers, and ugly sweaters, showcase a wide range of styles and topics that find Harley and Munslow at their songwriting and performing best. The duo plan a series of family concerts this winter and spring.
Bill Harley has two GRAMMY awards and seven nominations (including the latest nomination for his 2012 release High Dive).Harley was honored with a Rhode Island Council for the Humanities Lifetime Achievement Award “for his use of music, song, and story in building community; promoting our common humanity; and encouraging lifelong learning, exploring and growing.” He says the process of working with Keith was relatively easy: “Keith behaved himself very well during the recording. It took both of us to make this mess, and we’re happy with how it sounds.”
Keith Munslow is also an award-winning performer who combines music, storytelling, visual art, and improvisation. In addition to his one-man show for kids and families, he performs with the New Orleans-flavored blues band, Superchief Trio. He says that he and Bill had “more fun than should be allowed…We both love a good joke and a great story, and making music together is always a hoot. As for the bickering, well, that can neither be helped or avoided, so we just embrace it!” .
An advance copy of the album arrived here at Rock Father HQ recently, so look for more coverage on The Rock Father in the near future.
