FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is May 4th this year (also STAR WARS Day!), and while we didn’t have the greatest experience at last year’s Free Comic Book Day, I still get excited about a day devoted to sharing a love of comics with a new generation of readers. Now, my favorite comic book company has hit The Rock Father with news that their 2013 Free Comic Book Day offerings are being headlined by my all-time favorite hero…
DC Comics will offer SUPERMAN: LAST SON OF KRYPTON #1 Special Edition, a release that features the first chapter of the graphic novel SUPERMAN: LAST SON OF KRYPTON – written by Geoff Johns and Richard Donner (director of Superman: The Movie), illustrated by Adam Kubert and featuring Superman’s epic battle with General Zod and the Phantom Zone villains. It also features a preview of SUPERMAN UNCHAINED (pre-order #1 from TFAW), the new series by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee that hits stores on June 14, the same day that THE MAN OF STEEL hits movie theaters.

These stories are based on new animated series coming soon to Cartoon Network’s Saturday morning DC Nation programming block from Warner Bros. Animation.
