Sans a special holiday drive-through/walk-through event, the COVID-19 pandemic kept the gates of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL closed for 2020. Now, the annual Halloween extravaganza known as Fright Fest is roaring back into action for 2021.

The ghoulish event will open on Sept. 18 and will run select days and weekends through Halloween.

According to Six Flags, this year’s event will feature multiple “scare zones” and a pair of new haunted houses.

The event is fairly tame by day, but Six Flags says that “when the sun sets, the terror comes alive.”

Additional details will be revealed in the weeks ahead via the Six Flags Great America website. Locals looking for work can apply for seasonal positions starting at $15 an hour via this link.
