This article is more than 11 years old and may not have been updated since our last site redesign. It may contain outdated information or could be missing images.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve looked at the entire line of MEGA BLOKS Hot Wheels here on The Rock Father. When the folks at MEGA Brands started sending them to us for review here in The Rock Father’s State-of-the-Art Toy Testing Facility (our home and neighborhood), we were excited, but not sure what the experience would be. What we’ve discovered is that these creations born of a partnership between MEGA and Mattel are a lot of fun… and we’ve saved the best for last. The MEGA BLOKS Hot Wheels Urban Agent Stunt Rig is not the biggest, nor the most expensive set in the collection, but it’s the one that scored the highest marks here at Rock Father HQ.

MEGA BLOKS Hot Wheels Urban Agent Stunt Rig

With 285 pieces (recommended for ages 5+), the Urban Agent Stunt Rig is the perfect building set for vehicle-loving kids. Not too big, not too small, it’s just right in terms of size, build time, and what it is – a car (the “Urban Agent”) and a car-carrying semi (the “Stunt Rig”). It’s got two drivers, which when added to our existing collection makes eleven – and the drivers are a BIG hit with four-year-old, Addie.

While there have been some cool design nods to the 1:64 scale mainline Hot Wheels cars (MEGA Bloks versions of famous cars, the number “68,” etc.), here we get our first actual redline of the collection with the Urban Agent (for those unfamiliar, “redline” is a style of wheel that was made famous in the pre-1978 Hot Wheels).

Urban Agent - Redline

The fact that the Stunt Rig has six tires was a very exciting thing here (Addie really digs putting the wheels and tires together), but in it’s completed form, it’s the detailed simplicity that makes this thing perfect.

DSC 0704It’s a meaty pair of vehicles – sturdy, well-designed, and detailed… but the “simplicity” I mentioned above is in what it does. There’s a movable tail gate and ramp on the Stunt Rig that serves as a great launching point. The cab of the truck opens up for the driver to fit neatly inside, and the Urban Agent car even has a spring-loaded shooter on the front. Both of my girls love the set… even Little Finley.

And when paired with the rest of the collection, it’s the finishing touch to a stylish fleet of racers that does Team Hot Wheels Proud…

And creates nearly endless fun for my little ones…
