With Addie starting kindergarten this Fall, learning this summer and building on her vocabulary are very important points for us. MARTHA SPEAKS is a great tool – a show “designed to bolster the oral vocabulary of 4-to7-year-olds, engaging them with humor and imagination.” We’re right in that sweet spot, and if you have a little one that is, too – then this week, tune into MARTHA SPEAKETH WEEKETH on PBS KIDS (check your local listings) to catch new episodes, and then check out the all-new Martha’s Steaks game on the PBS KIDS website for even more learning fun!

As part of my gig as a PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent), the girls and I got to check out two of the new episodes – “Thou Callest Me a Dog” and “Martha’s Paper Chase” – along with some of the fantastic cross-platform learning tools that bring the MARTHA SPEAKS experience with us where ever we go. Through books like 2008’s PERFECTLY MARTHA and the newly-released graphic novel, CANINE COMICS: SIX DARING DOGGIE ADVENTURES, to the DVD collections like PUPPIES! PUPPIES!, PUPPIES!, learning is available whenever we are.

Along with a summer learning and fun kit that included some additional goodies from the folks at ABC Mouse (which we’re looking forward to trying) and Chuck E. Cheese’s, we’ve got even more adventures ahead of us in the coming weeks.
