When I was at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair (#ChiTaG) at Navy Pier last month, I happened to run into the folks from SnuggleTime Toys. What they had that caught my eye was a line of “Petjamas” – which I initially thought were clothing for Pillow Pets. They are, but they’re actually a little more: Petjamas are “changeable, washable covers” for Pillow Pets (and the knock-offs like the “Pillow Chums” and “Pillow Chaps” I see on kiosks in the mall). They give these popular plush pillows a fresh look, while also providing a sort of “guard” that’s easy to clean.
Petjamas are made of the same material as my daughter’s Pillow Pets (we have the large “Snuggly Puppy,” the PeeWee “Huggable Hippo,” and the Bee Blanket) and fit perfect. We’ve got a large set of Petjamas (in “Quilty“) that fit the 18” dog, and Addie loves the addition of a handle and pockets that are a “bonus feature” of sorts. Petjamas are well-designed to include a hole for the Pillow Pets’ tail, and one for the velcro strap.
If your kids love their Pillow Pets (or similar item) as much as mine do, the Petjamas might be an accessory worth checking out. Actually, they fall right into the “why didn’t I think of that?” category!
Available for around $9.99 from SnuggleTime Toys’ website.
