It’s the smallest gap ever between Star Wars movies – a December release for Star Wars: The Last Jedi followed by the “standalone” Solo: A Star Wars Story less than six months later. While we know that Lucasfilm doesn’t like to market their films on top of one another, it’s almost unheard of to debut a first-look just four months ahead of a new release, but that’s exactly what’s happened here… and I don’t mind it. During Super Bowl LII, many (like myself) weren’t tuning in to see the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the New England Patriots – they were tuning in for the rumored first-look at footage from Solo. That was a promise quickly delivered on, and with that 45-second teaser came another one… “Trailer Tomorrow.” That day has come, and after a debut on Good Morning America, here’s the full teaser trailer for Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story!
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” releases in U.S. theatres on May 25, 2018.
SOLO stars Alden Ehrenreich as a younger version of the character originated by Harrison Ford, with Donald Glover stepping in for Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton and Emilia Clarke also star.
