SPARTA returns May 29 with Cut A Silhouette (Equal Vision Records, Dine Alone Records), a record that pulls from the band’s history while pushing its sound forward with renewed clarity.

Frontman Jim Ward and company wrote the album across hotel rooms, practice spaces, and soundchecks before recording it in seven days with J. Robbins at Magpie Cage Recording Studio. That compressed timeline brings a sense of immediacy to the material, capturing a band working with intent.

“This is a love record,” Ward says. “I want it to leave an impression, and at this point in my career, that’s what I yearn for. I’m working so hard to make something meaningful to me, and I really want people to get a chance to feel it as well.”

The lead single, “Crater,” co-written with Frank Iero, offers an early look at the album’s direction. Additional collaborators, including Kemble Walters and Carlos Arévalo, contribute across the record, adding texture without shifting focus away from the core trio.

SPARTA supports the release with a slate of summer dates across Latin America and the U.S., including select shows with JIMMY EAT WORLD and THE TOADIES.
