The Random Rock N’ More: Weekend Edition (Updates on 40+ Bands & Artists)

It’s time for a weekend edition of The Random Rock N’ More, the column where the ”…for Grown-ups” section infiltrates the normally family-friendly homepage of The Rock Father. Below you’ll find updates on over 40 bands and artists – all of which have hit my inbox in the past few days. ”Random Rock” means just that. Black Metal, indie, punk, acoustic, underground, mainstream – it’s all here. ”N’ More is everything else for a well-balanced musical parfait. Let’s get to work.

THE RANDOM ROCK:
0. MATT TOKA has taken a cue from COLDPLAY and has released a mellow, acoustic rendition of the BEASTIE BOYS’ (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) in honor of the late Adam Yauch aka MCA.
1. EVE TO ADAM recently recorded a new single – a cover of ALICE COOPER‘s School’s Out. Check out a video teaser here, and don’t forget to enter for a chance to WIN a meet & greet with the band.
2. Tune in to VH1 Classic on Saturday night, May 12^th, at 8 p.m. PACIFIC / 11 p.m. EASTERN to watch DORO, Billy Duffy, and Ian Astbury of THE CULT visit with That Metal Show hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine. See a preview here.
3. CHERRI BOMB are streaming their new album in it’s entirety over at Alternative Press. Stay tuned to The Rock Father for something cool from these youngsters coming next Tuesday, May 15 (release day!).
4. THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS have partnered with Valiant Watches to raise cash for Haiti.
5. HOT WATER MUSIC are streaming their new record, EXISTER, over at SPIN. 
6. IGNITE have released a new trailer for their forthcoming DVD, OUR DARKEST DAYS LIVE. June 19 is the release date for that one.
7. THE DEVASTATED are premiering their new video entitled Roof Top Panty Drop over at AOL Noisecreep.
8. IT BITES have released the third part of their IT BITES EPK. Their album is out now on Inside Out.
9. VILLA RISE have their new video for Keeper streaming on the BlankTV YouTube.
10. In honor of Mother’s Day, LITA FORD is streaming a new track called Mother at DECIBEL. No, it’s not the DANZIG song, either. Her new album, LIVING LIKE A RUNAWAY is out June 19th.
11. ROBERT SCHWARTZMAN has released a video for Second Chances. His brother, actor Jason Schwartzman appears, as does WEEZER’s Brian Bell.
12. ULVER have released a video for Magic Hollow.
13. SAVING ABEL have signed to eOne Music for the July 17th release of BRINGING DOWN THE GIANT.
14. EXHUMED are streaming a new track over at GunShyAssassin. Crank it up.
15. SABATON have released a lyric video for A Lifetime of War in English and Swedish. Bork Bork.
16. PHOBIA are streaming a new track called Submission Hold over at DECIBEL.
17. ORDER OF NINE are streaming a new track called Dreamspeak over at Noisecreep.
18. MOUNTAIN MAN have signed to No Sleep Records. A new EP from the hardcore act will arrive this summer. Want a teaser?
19. A new TESSERACT song called Dream Brother is streaming at Metal Hammer.
20. SPIDER ROCKETS have released their second “Coffee Talk” video over at AMP Magazine.
21. DYING FETUS have a new song called Second Skin over at Revolver.
22. THE WARNER SOUND has released an official version of a previously-bootlegged DEPECHE MODE interview from 1993. Check it out here.
23. WHITE FANG will release POSITIVE FEEDBACK on June 19.
24. ARCHITECTS UK have a new video for Alpha Omega.
25. The song’s been out for a couple of years, but THE REVEREND PEYTON’s BIG DAMN BAND’s Clap Your Hands is now being used in some IFC commercials.
26. Century Media has signed MIASMAL.
27. MARDUK released a video for Souls For Belial.
28. PHILM are releasing their debut album this Tuesday, but how about a free track? See below…

0. SCARLETT CHERRY has released a performance video for Sleep Until You Dream feat Alisan Porter
1. MAROON 5 have debuted their video for Payphone. The song is “explicit,” and features Wiz Khalifa.
2. FAR EAST MOVEMENT have a new video out for Dirty Bass feat. TYGA. See it on VEVO.
3. AMANDA MAIR is releasing a new self-titled album on June 5th, and you can stream a track called Sense below. Sure, it’s been circulating the ‘net for a couple months, but it just hit my inbox yet again.

6. PAUL VAN DYK recently did an interview with THE INSIDER, which can be viewed at this location. 
7. YOUNG HOLLYWOOD has posted an interview with SHANE HARPER, which was taped during his takeover of RADIO DISNEY last month. 
8. RYAN MONROE of BAND OF HORSES has a new track called Turning Over Leaves… which you can hear below. The track appears on his June 12 solo album, A PAINTING OF A PAINTING OF FIRE.
