It’s been two years since PRODUCT OF HATE released their debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE via Napalm Records. Three years of touring (they started the cycle a year prior to the album’s release), a few singles, five music videos, a live video and a lyric video later, and we’re nearing news on their second album. I’m beyond partial to the band as I co-manage them and have served as director/editor on the aforementioned five videos – and even though the second album is on the way (Shhh! Recording was just completed!), people are still discovering the first one. Having been asked for “playthrough videos” for awhile now, we grabbed some footage from the archives and put together a bass playthrough for “Kill. You. Now.” This is four minutes of Mark Campbell going to town on his six-string bass, as pulled from the raw footage from when we shot the original video. Check out the “Slappin’ da Bass” version below. Thanks, Paul Rudd!
And in case you didn’t see the original video the first time around, here it is…

About PRODUCT OF HATE: Born in 2007 in Southeastern Wisconsin, and hailed as “One of 12 Bands to Watch in 2016” by Metal Hammer, PRODUCT OF HATE’s debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE, was released on February 5, 2016 by Napalm Records. Distributed in the U.S. by ADA/Warner Music Group and Internationally by Universal Music Group, the album hit #9 on the Billboard Heatseekers – East North Central Chart and was the #3 most added at metal radio the week prior to release as the first single, “Monster,” enjoyed heavy rotation on SiriusXM Liquid Metal.
BURIED IN VIOLENCE spawned five official music videos, including “Revolution of Destruction,” “Kill. You. Now.,” “Monster,” “Blood Coated Concrete,” and “Unholy Manipulator.” Additionally, a lyric video and “Tour Edition” live video for “…As Your Kingdom Falls,” brought the total clips from the album to seven. Notably, “Unholy Manipulator” was a self-produced homage to horror films starring Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser) and featuring the FX work of Robert Kurtzman’s Creature Corps (From Dusk ‘Till Dawn, The Devil’s Rejects) including several artists from SyFy’s Face Off. The band also toured the album extensively, hitting the road a year prior to its release, working the album cycle across North America with the likes of Allegaeon, The Agonist, Mushroomhead, Skinlab, IKILLYA, Hammer Fight, Madame Mayhem, Sumo Cyco and more.
BURIED IN VIOLENCE was recorded and engineered by Scott Creekmore at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, Illinois, with mixing and mastering handled by James Murphy (Death, Testament, Obituary) at SafeHouse Production in Florida.
PRODUCT OF HATE’s album-closing cover version of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Perry Mason” was declared one of the “Best of 2016” in SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s New Year’s Corridor of Covers to kick-off 2017.
2017 found the band on its longest consecutive tour to-date as they gained more spins at radio and began recording their second full-length album, expected to see release at some point in 2018.
