Steven Spielberg’s classic film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was released 31 years ago this June. I thought it was pretty cool when I found a 20th Anniversary Edition Collectors’ figure on clearance at Toys “R” Us (it was an exclusive to them) back in 2002… and to this day, the 12″ figure sits in an acrylic display case here in my office. Now, my E.T. is a little less-cool, as the folks at NECA Toys are releasing an E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Stunt Puppet Prop Replica. It’s nearly life-size, at almost three feet tall. I think that I my daughters need this.
Here’s what the sales materials say: “An almost life-size recreation of the E.T. alien stunt puppet as he appeared in the beloved 1982 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial film by Steven Spielberg! Measuring nearly 3-feet tall and featuring meticulous hand-painted detail, this foam rubber and latex E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Stunt Puppet Prop Replica looks incredibly life-like and is the must-have E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial collectible for fans of the movie. This stunt puppet prop replica is limited to just a single production run, and once it’s sold out, it will not be coming back. Don’t miss out!”
He’s $249.99 and available for pre-order right now via my friends at Entertainment Earth.
Ya know, NECA also made those life-size GREMLINS prop replicas that would also look great in my office.
