In what sounds like the thematic inspiration for the latest FEAR FACTORY album, author James Patterson returns for a new novel, Humans, Bow Down - a tale of a robot uprising that doesn't end well for the flesh-and-blood crowd. Now, in collaboration with Little, Brown and Co., The Rock Father™ is helping to celebrate the new book, with an epic giveaway. One (1) lucky reader will receive a hardcover edition of Humans, Bow Down, plus a $100 Visa Gift Card that can no doubt be used to buy survival supplies that will assist with living in a world run by robots!
When it comes to imaginative play, my friends at The Step2 Company are always on top of the game in coming up with new ways to expand the horizons of children. For 2017, one of the most unique new offerings is the All Around Playtime Patio with Canopy™, a new style of kid's playhouse that's wheelchair accessible, and exceptionally spacious in combining multiple play options into one affordable package. To celebrate the coming of warmer weather and getting kids back outside, The Rock Father™ and Step2 have teamed-up once again, and we're giving you the chance to win one of these for your yard! It's Made in the USA (Ohio!) of US and imported parts. Check it out...
First revealed at New York Toy Fair back in 2016, the collaboration between Funko and Playmobil was a bit of an unexpected one. Playmobil is one of my favorite toy lines of all-time, producing quality, German-designed toys since 1974. Funko is a more recent success story, the Washington-based maker of Pop! Vinyl ever-expanding their footprint into the pop culture world and beyond. For Funko x Playmobil, the two toymakers have partnered for a series of 6" collectible figures that are scaled more in-line with what Funko is known for, but with the iconic Playmobil look and feel. What makes these special is that they're the first-ever pop culture licenses to appear in Playmobil form, and while they're bigger than the norm, they also serve as a preview for Playmobil Ghostbusters, which launches in May of 2017. With the first wave of Funko x Playmobil officially released, my friends at Entertainment Earth sent over an assortment of figures for review here at Rock Father HQ, and one duo that I was really excited to see was Doctor Emmett Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future!
On February 24, Lionsgate Premiere will unleash ROCK DOG, a fun new animated adventure from Ash Brannon, co-director of Surf's Up and Toy Story 2. The tale of a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff that leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician after a radio falls from the sky and into his possession, ROCK DOG features the voice talents of Luke Wilson (Bodi), Eddie Izzard (Angus), J.K. Simmons (Khampa), Lewis Black (Linnux), Kenan Thompson (Riff), Mae Whitman (Darma), Jorge Garcia (Germur), with Matt Dillon (Trey) and Sam Elliott (Fleetwood Yak). To celebrate the release, Lionsgate has teamed up with The Rock Father™ to give readers a chance at scoring a ROCK DOG prize pack, including a $50 Visa Gift Card to see the film in theaters, plus a Beanie, Tambourine and Temporary Tattoo! Are YOU ready to ROCK?
I don't know that most people expected DreamWorks' Trolls to be as big as it's been, particularly on the spin-off front. With its colorful characters, vibrant world, sing-along soundtrack and positive message, kids have been inspired to create their own Trolls-inspired projects that keep the spirit of "happy" going long after the end credits have rolled. Now, with the film having come home on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD, my friends at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have partnered with a variety of writers and creative types (including yours truly) to come up with some fun projects to do at home. Armed with a box of supplies graciously delivered by the folks at Fox, The Rock Daughters™ and I set out to craft something awesome. Thing is, I realized after we were well underway that I'm just not very good at the whole "crafting" thing, and that there's others out there who have some really impressive project ideas. But, that's actually not what's important - the real importance is in having fun and fostering creativity, no matter how things turn out.
