It's true that SpongeBob SquarePants may indeed still be one of my nemeses, but there comes a time to lay down arms and come together in celebration of a mutual interest... in this case, Halloween. New from Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Video comes SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom the acclaimed stop-motion animation special, now available for the very first time on DVD. As part of our annual 31 Days of Halloween here at The Rock Father™ Magazine, Nickelodeon DVD and I have teamed-up to get three readers hooked-up with copies of the DVD just in time for the spooky season!
Sometimes things just have a way of working out... like launching the 2018 installment of 31 Days of Halloween alongside Phase One of the annual Holiday Wish Guide™. And since that's happening, it's only fitting that the debut entry for this year's celebration of October's finest moment is something that's in both. From PLAYMOBIL comes the new Take Along Haunted House (9312), an upgrade and expansion of an idea presented by the discontinued Haunted House Play Box (5638) from a few years back.
It's almost Halloween, and finally those long-awaited Super Monsters toys are coming! I gave you your first-look at the prototypes from Toy Fair back in March, and now Hasbro's Playskool is getting ready to unleash these super-cute monsters ahead of the Season Two Premiere on Netflix, which arrives alongside a new mini movie - Super Monsters Save Halloween - on October 5th. On a recent visit to Target, my wife and I happened to find the first piece of Super Monsters merch in the wild - a Halloween-themed t-shirt that unfortunately only came in toddler sizes. The toys, however, are recommended for ages 3 and up, but I see a bigger audience here - not just for kids, but also grownups who love Halloween and all things spooky! Take a look at some of what's up for pre-order via my associate, Amazon, right now...
Love Hocus Pocus? If so, you're gonna want to see this... but if you live in Los Angeles, you could actually be a part of it!

"This is the quintessential Vince Guaraldi for our Peanuts' specials...some of his best atmospheric jazz. Vince's score carries the gang with the autumn leaves, through the scary and cold Halloween night. This music comforts the indomitable faith of Linus, still waiting for his hero since 1966 - forever in our ears, hearts and memories." -- Peanuts Executive Producer Lee Mendelson
It's hard to believe, but one of the most famous soundtracks in the beloved collection of music from the iconic Peanuts animated TV specials has never-before been released on CD or Digital. In fact, many have called it a "Holy Grail" - but on October 5, Craft Recordings will finally release It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Music from the Soundtrack). This new collection features music by GRAMMY-winning composer/performer Vince Guaraldi, and will be issued in a CD package that includes a new introduction from the TV show's executive producer Lee Mendelson and insightful liner notes by Derrick Bang, Peanuts historian and author of Vince Guaraldi at the Piano.
