The combined adventures of Daredevil AKA Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) Iron Fist AKA Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and possibly, eventually The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) [Ed: I haven't had a chance to delve in yet, but I expect him to be there] find the heroes uniting to save New York City. Along with the series comes a soundtrack, and Marvel Music/Hollywood Records have delivered.

Tom Freund has been covering Pete Townshend's 1980 single "Let My Love Open the Door" as a part of his live shows since 2008. Now, with the help of friend and frequent collaborator, Ben Harper, the world has a studio version of this ukulele-driven cover to enjoy. "We’ve played it ‘live” in various corners of the world, from the Alps of Italy to the lower Manhattan subterranean," said Freund of the track, adding that "this year felt like the right time to lay it down in the studio." While a video is said to be in the works, you can check out a stream of the song below...
The World Champion Chicago Cubs haven't been too great this year, but 2016 was a big one. It saw the end of "the curse" and a long-awaited World Series win that ignited the interest and excitement of baseball fans not just here in Illinois, but around the world. The Cubs have many famous fans, and among them Eddie Vedder stands out. In fact, 2016 also brought PEARL JAM to Chicago for a pair of shows at Wrigley Field - concerts that are now the subject of a new film entitled Let's Play Two. The first teaser emerged a few days back (see it below), but not much else is known about the release plan at this point. A website for the film offers an email signup for info, and if anything, a fall debut for this year would be pretty cool.
I've featured the metallic covers of Leo Moracchioli here on the site before, and with each one, I tend to feel that the Norwegian musician is a kindred spirit on the other side of the world. Aside from being a fellow "Rock Father" (he has a daughter as well), his musical inclinations tend to head in a similar direction, with frequent metallic covers of songs that run the gamut from pop to soundtracks and beyond. His latest really hits home as it's a song that I've actually covered myself - Danny Elfman's iconic theme to The Simpsons. The Frog Leap Studios version is admittedly much better than my own Saturday Action Theatre edition (from the 2004 Remakes & Sequels EP), but I'm including both for your listening enjoyment below along with Green Day's 2007 punk version and Powerglove's 2010 metal take!
