Back to School. I do believe that this is the very first Back to School post that I’ve ever done on The Rock Father. While we didn’t have a real “break” since we kept her in activities this summer at the same place… with the same teachers… and mostly the same class… our oldest will be Back to Preschool this Fall, and that got me thinking about one of the coolest aspects of the season: New supplies. That said, I’d been looking at lunch boxes (and totes and bags) and decided to compile some of my favorites here on the site. Take a peek at the list below. 1. LEGO Lunch Box (Ty’s Toy Box)
Based on the classic LEGO Brick Design, this plastic lunch box is bound to stand out among the pack. While they’re not stackable, I actually think it would be cool to have one or two of these here in my office at Rock Father HQ. A perfect lunch tote for your little LEGO fan. Available in Red or Blue.
2. CAILLOU and FRIENDS Green Stripes Lunch Bag (Ty’s Toy Box)
Featuring Caillou and friends (as seen on PBS KIDS and Sprout), this sturdy insulated lunch bag features a large single compartment and can be personalized with a name up to 9 characters.
3. Skip-Hop Feeding Time Owl Lunch Bag (The Land of Nod)
My wife actually has this one, and has been known to take her lunch to work in it.
4. SOFIA THE FIRST Lunch Tote (Disney Store)
Sofia the First is a big deal here this year (along with Doc McStuffins, the star of DISNEY JUNIOR), and if your little Princess is as enchanted by Enchancia as mine, then this might be the way to go. A matching backpack is also available.
5. STAR WARS Original Trilogy Lunch Boxes (Entertainment Earth)
These STAR WARS Lunch Boxes could also be called “totes” or “tins,” and I’m including them here because they look cool. The downside is that they’re not insulated. Available in STAR WARS (Episode IV), THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (Episode V), and RETURN OF THE JEDI (Episode VI). Made by Vandor.
6. HELLO KITTY Dual Lunch Kit (Target – in-stores-only)
Sanrio’s iconic HELLO KITTY is a classic (we’re actually doing a Hello Kitty-themed Birthday party next month), and Addie already has a pretty sweet Hello Kitty Lunch tote. While this isn’t the same one, this Dual Lunch Kit from Thermos is available now at Target stores.
7. SUPER WHY! Calling All Readers Lunch Bag(Ty’s Toy Box)
Load up your little one’s favorite sandwich and snacks in this personalized lunch bag featuring Wonder Red, Super Why, Princess Presto and Alpha Pig. This sturdy insulated lunch bag features a large single compartment and can be personalized with a name up to 9 characters.
8. MONSTER HIGH Lunch Tote Assortment (Target)
Mattel has a big hit with MONSTER HIGH, and while my little ones haven’t hit the craze yet, I dig the horror-centric world for kids. If your little ones are into the offspring of Dracula and the gang, you might want to snag one of these now before they’re gone.
9. MAN OF STEEL Superman Logo Compartment Lunch Kit (ShopDCEntertainment.com)
The Superman “S” is a iconic, and while the MAN OF STEEL might be the big movie right now, there’s no reason why this couldn’t represent SUPERGIRL as well. My little Addie has a MAN OF STEEL cape that she uses to play SUPERGIRL, and this lunch kit could be perfect for your little Kryptonian.
10. STAR WARS R2-D2 Lights & Sounds Lunch Bag (Superherostuff.com)
First of all, boys and girls, kids of all ages just love R2-D2. Second, this thing makes noise and lights up? Your little one could be the envy of all STAR WARS-loving classmates with this soft lunch bag from Superherostuff. His “eye” lights up, and the classic Astromech Droid sounds happen when you open him.
