THE MISSION U.K. – SILVER:
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of alt-rock/Goth Rock legends, Silver includes two-DVD’s and an audio CD documenting The Mission UK’s 2011 performances in London, Cologne and Frankfurt. These shows re-unite original members Wayne Hussey (singer/guitarist), Craig Adams (bassist) and Simon Hinkler (guitarist/keyboardist) to perform all of the classic songs that cemented The Mission UK fan-base in Europe, North America and beyond.
The Mission UK originally formed in 1985, after Hussey and Adams’ departed another legendary goth outfit, The Sisters Of Mercy. With the addition of Hinkler, The Mission UK soon toured the world and earned a fanatical following for their blend of classic rock roots and gothic pop music. As All Music explained while reviewing 1988’s breakthrough album Children, The Mission UK became acclaimed as “a big, dramatic, grandiose band whose members weren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves.” While the ‘90s saw The Mission UK go through different incarnations, the three original members (joined by drummer Mike Kelly) regrouped in 2011 to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary with multiple tours.
