INEOS Automotive is calling out politicians in the EU and the U.S. for the increasingly volatile tariff climate that continues to evolve under the Trump administration.
The Grenadier 4×4 line’s maker is “outraged that the EU has neglected the tariff situation with the U.S.”
“This is what happens when politicians sit on their hands,” said INEOS Automotive CEO Lynn Calder in a statement. “As a growing EU-based automobile brand, we are vulnerable to tariffs, and we need our politicians to support our business, our jobs, and our economies. We need urgent and direct political intervention on tariffs.”
The comments follow a new round of tariffs, as high as 25%, on all auto imports into the U.S.
“We will give whatever support we can to our political leaders to keep the playing field even for small, competitive brands such as Grenadier,” Calder added. “But we must see action from EU politicians: only they are in a position to address the issue. Fortunately, we have been planning for tariffs, but there is only so much we can do to protect U.S. customers from price rises.”
The Grenadier’s base model, the Station Wagon, starts at around $75,000 in the U.S. with models like the Quartermaster and Grenadier 1924 starting at $83,900 and $86,950, respectively before any new tariffs.
