Canadian heavy music pioneers Kittie mark 25 years of their groundbreaking debut with today’s release of the Spit XXV EP via Sumerian Records. Produced by Garth Richardson, who also helmed the original 1999 sessions, the collection reimagines four standout tracks from Spit, re-recorded with the band’s evolved sound.
The release is spotlighted by a new video for “Do You Think I’m A Whore? XXV,” directed by William Felch at Wombat Fire. The track, long a dark horse in the band’s catalog, receives its overdue recognition with a visceral new take and confrontational visuals.
“We’re beyond excited to revisit and reimagine songs that started it all for us with Spit XXV,” says vocalist and guitarist Morgan Lander. “Re-recording these songs has been an emotional and empowering journey. It’s a chance to honor our roots while bringing a new level of energy and experience to the music. Spit XXV isn’t just a celebration of where we came from, but a thank-you to the fans who have stood by us for the past 25 years.”
The Spit XXV EP arrives amid Kittie’s biggest era in more than a decade, following their 2024 comeback album Fire and a triumphant return to major festival stages.
