What makes a monster song? For many reasons, the title “Monster” is one that is often used by a host of artists that transcend genres. From Product of Hate‘s blistering metal single (for which I directed the music video), to Kanye West‘s legendary collaboration with Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Bon Iver… from the pop stylings of Lady Gaga and Paramore to the folksy grooves of Mumford & Sons… and from the metallic crunch of Disturbed to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, countless artists have birthed their own “Monster.” To celebrate this oddity is to enjoy it together, and I’ve curated a new Spotify Playlist featuring 23 distinct songs (nearly an hour and a half of music) that share just one similarity – the single-word title, “Monster.” Stream it in the web player below, or click here to follow the playlist on Spotify.
