One of the biggest stories here on THE ROCK FATHER in the past few months was the news that toys based on NickJr’s BLAZE AND THE MONSTER MACHINES were headed for Toys “R” Us. Reaction to that first-look at the new, high-octane vehicles from Mattel’s Fisher-Price (especially on Facebook & Instagram) just solidified how much kids are loving the excitement of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) infused series. Now it’s official – the BLAZE AND THE MONSTER MACHINES Toys have arrived in-store and online exclusively through Toys “R” Us – a launch perfectly-timed to the debut of DRAGON ISLAND DUEL, airing Monday, May 25th at 11am ET/PT on Nickelodeon. While we have not yet had a chance to check out any of the toys personally (our eyes are on the Die-Cast collection), I’ve heard from a few readers that have, and the folks at Nick did provide us with an early look at DRAGON ISLAND DUEL, which is officially Rock Father-approved!

blaze2DRAGON ISLAND DUEL:

In “Dragon Island Duel,” Blaze and Crusher go up against each other in a one-on-one high stakes race to the top of Mount Dragon. Although it’s one of the toughest races their team has ever faced, best friends Blaze and AJ know they have what it takes to beat Crusher–the unstoppable power of friendship! Despite Crusher’s attempt to cheat and trap Blaze in a cave far off the course before the race begins, AJ manages to free his best friend while overcoming larger-than-life obstacles along the way. Crusher tries to cheat one last time along the route, but Blaze and AJ prove no one can beat best friends by winning the race in a thrilling finale. Throughout the half-hour special, preschoolers will be introduced to the STEM concept of investigation.

“Ever since Blaze and the Monster Machines roared to life last fall, preschoolers have been clamoring for toys starring the show’s entire gang of witty and vibrant characters. We worked closely with our partners at Fisher-Price and Nickelodeon to be the first retailer to race this action-packed line of playthings to shelves for little fans, providing them the opportunity to extend the high-octane stunts, songs and monster adventures from the show during playtime.”Jamie Uitdenhowen, Toys“R”Us
